Our IOSH Managing Safely course is the industry-standard health and safety qualification for managers and supervisors in any sector. Designed and quality-assured by IOSH, it provides the essential knowledge and tools to manage risks effectively, improve safety culture, and meet your organisation’s legal duties.

Assessment

The IOSH Managing Safely course assessment is two-fold. On the last day of the course, you’ll take a 45-minute 30 question multiple-choice exam. The pass mark for this is 60% (36 out of 60).

The second assessment stage involves a practical risk assessment which you will carry out independently in your workplace after the teaching segment of the course ends. This must be completed within 1 week of finishing the course, and you’ll have 1 hour to complete the assessment.

Prerequisites

Learners are required to complete the assessments in a manner appropriate to the purpose of the qualification. The prescribed assessment methods for this qualification should not unfairly disadvantage learners who would otherwise be able to demonstrate competence in line with the purpose of the qualification. Learners should contact their centre to discuss reasonable adjustment if they feel the prescribed assessment methods would disadvantage them.
