Please note that IOSH Working Safely is no longer accepted as a route for the Green CSCS card. You will need to attend the CITB Health and Safety Awareness instead to get your Labourer card.

Certification

IOSH Working Safely certificate does not have an expiry date, however IOSH do recommend that you take a refresher course every three years to keep your knowledge up to date

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Although we do ask that you can understand, spoken and written English well enough to pass the course, we want you to get the best out of your training

Reasonable Adjustments

Learners are required to complete the assessments in a manner appropriate to the purpose of the qualification. The prescribed assessment methods for this qualification should not unfairly disadvantage learners who would otherwise be able to demonstrate competence in line with the purpose of the qualification. Learners should contact their centre to discuss reasonable adjustment if they feel the prescribed assessment methods would disadvantage them.

Assessment

The IOSH Working Safely assessment consists of a multiple-choice exam and a hazard-spotting exercise:
  • Exam
    A 30-minute online exam with multiple-choice questions. To pass, students need to score at least 20 out of 33 points. Students can attempt the exam twice, but if they fail the second time, they need to retake the entire course.
  • Hazard-spotting exercise
    An online exercise that tests students' ability to identify hazards. To pass, students need to score at least 11 out of 16 points.
