WHAT DO PEOPLE SAY ABOUT WORKING SAFELY?

The aim was to achieve a more focused approach to safety across the board. We wanted a training product that was well-regarded within the industry and which the staff could be proud of and Working Safely was the one for us. The course’s new, dynamic approach proved key, as did the fact that it is jargon-free”

COVID-19 Safe Distance Learning

We would like to re-assure our clients that our trainers are promoting a safe and hygienic environment in the training room when delivering training. This will include delegates regularly being asked to wipe their hands with alcohol based sanitiser.

At present, the UK Government have made the provision that, during this period of strict lockdown, all learners should be able to access education. As the delivery of regulated qualifications falls under the description of “education”, our industry is able to continue operating – however it must do so under strict safety requirements.

Reasonable Adjustments

Learners are required to complete the assessments in a manner appropriate to the purpose of the qualification. The prescribed assessment methods for this qualification should not unfairly disadvantage learners who would otherwise be able to demonstrate competence in line with the purpose of the qualification. Learners should contact their centre to discuss reasonable adjustment if they feel the prescribed assessment methods would disadvantage them.

Certification

IOSH Working Safely certificate does not have an expiry date, however IOSH do recommend that you take a refresher course every three years to keep your knowledge up to date.

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Although we do ask that you can understand, spoken and written English well enough to pass the course, we want you to get the best out of your training.

Assessment

Every delegate who has attended all four modules, and for the required face-to-face contact time, should take the end-of-course assessment. This assessment tests the course learning objectives and consists of: • Part A – an invigilated, closed-book, end-of-course multi-format question paper • Part B – an invigilated, closed-book, end-of-course multi-choice hazard-spotting exercise. Both parts should be completed on the last day of the course and can be achieved within 30 minutes. They must be the delegate’s own work.
